Our approach

At our Swimming Club, the safety and wellbeing of every swimmer is our top priority.

We follow Wavepower, the Swim England Safeguarding Policy and Procedures, to make sure everyone can enjoy swimming in a safe, positive, and welcoming environment. We believe all swimmers—whatever their age, background, ability, or identity—have the right to take part free from harm and with respect and support from everyone around them.

All our coaches, teachers, and volunteers are carefully recruited in line with the Safe Recruitment Policy, have completed enhanced DBS checks, and have received safeguarding training. They also follow our Codes of Conduct and the standards set out in Wavepower to help create a fun, safe, and inclusive environment for all.

Our trained Welfare Officer(s) is available for any child, parent, or member who has a question or concern about welfare or safeguarding, and their contact details are shared with all members. Any concern raised is taken seriously, dealt with promptly and sensitively, and handled in line with Wavepower guidance—with confidentiality and the child’s best interests at the heart of every decision.
