🌊 Join Our Swimming Community
If your child loves swimming, and they’re ready to take it further, Bushey Amateur Swimming Club offers the perfect next step. We’re a community-focused club with a strong family atmosphere, helping young swimmers develop excellent technique, fitness and confidence — with the opportunity to compete and excel in a supportive, low-pressure environment.
Who We Welcome
We welcome children aged 5+ who can swim unaided and are working at roughly Stage 5 of the Learn to Swim pathway or above. At this level, swimmers have a basic understanding of all four strokes and are ready for club training focused on competitive development and skill refinement.
All new swimmers complete a short assessment so we can understand their current strokes, efficiency and skills, and place them in the most appropriate training group. While we do our best to offer places quickly, availability will depend on space in the relevant squads.
Growth through competition
As a competitive development club, we expect all members (from age 9) to participate in internal club competitions and to represent BASC at inter-club galas when selected. These events are fun, friendly, and help swimmers develop confidence, resilience, and team spirit.
A Community Built on Volunteers
BASC is run almost entirely by volunteers, from coaching to officiating. We rely on the support of parents and carers to help the club thrive. We hope that all families will help in some way. Please have a look at our Volunteering Page to see the types of role available.
